Job Summary

The Accounting Manager assists the controller in managing the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Manage customer invoicing, revenue recognition, and partner with the sales department on reporting.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing & recording of payroll journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly commission calculations.
  • Assist with preparation of weekly cash projection.
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly sales tax reporting.
  • Perform Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End closing functions.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting workpaper documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Evaluate processes/procedures making recommendations for improvement always striving for best practices with role.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus

Skills and Competencies

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
